Marc Johnson couples a meticulous disposition with a vast technical background in order to support patent preparation and prosecution activities at MBH.  Prior to joining MBH, Marc developed a diverse set of expertise having worked as a hardware designer, software developer, systems engineer, technical feature architect, and field tester.  An inventor himself, Marc is named on thirteen United States patents.

Marc began his career in the early days of digital wireless telecommunications.  He joined Ericsson’s mobile communication division in 1994 as a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) software development engineer.  As the field of wireless telecommunications evolved, Marc filled a variety of key research and development roles at Ericsson and, subsequently, at Sony Ericsson.  As a designer and systems engineer, Marc architected some of the earliest mobile device implementations for several key wireless technologies including AMR, A-GPS, and the baseband DSP receiver control in Ericsson’s first WCDMA mobile platform (chipset).  Marc continued his involvement with advanced technologies by serving as the Manager of Advanced Concepts for Sony Ericsson’s North American market and, subsequently, by serving as Sony Ericsson’s Positioning Specialist within its Corporate Technology Office.

Marc earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University where he continues to volunteer as a mentor and advisor for senior design projects in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
